Weatherproof Weddings
You’ll be sheltered from the rain, while still feeling at one with nature, with the new Nikau Pavilion completed in September 2023. With translucent panels and draping for the 7m-high roof, the structure protects you and your guests from the sun and showers. And the movable, weatherproof glass sides slide open so you can feel part of the native garden surroundings.
The rebuilt Nikau Pavilion has the capacity to comfortably seat 120 guests and provides a fabulous alternative to the outdoor Kowhai Glade as a ceremony space in both summer and winter as well as the ideal spot for canape hour.
The new structure replaces the stretch-tent canopy which served guests well for many years, but had come to the end of its useful life.
It had both the options we wanted which was for dry & wet weather. Everything just flowed so beautifully from the garden to the pavilion to the Nikau room.
We loved the serenity and the calmness of Tui Hills and how intimate it is. Both ceremony areas were equally as beautiful which took away any stress around the weather.
In The Heart of Nature
Just a few steps from the main venue buildings, the Kowhai Glade is the enchanting secluded ceremony area that couples fall in love with.
Feel the excitement build walking down the fern-lined bridal path knowing friends and family and your fiancee are waiting for you – and then you’re there!
Seating’s provided for up to 120 guests, and the iconic rotunda serves as the perfect backdrop for the vows and photographs afterwards.
Add our styling package to make the Kowhai Glade look extra special with colour-coordinated silk flowers in urns, as pew and aisle markers and on the rotunda itself.
Indoor Space With Character
Fully air-conditioned throughout, the historic Nectar Room is where dining and the dance party happen for up to 120 guests.
The character space, with a native timber floor and internal hanging garden, has a fully-stocked bar. Wooden tables and cross-back chairs are included in every package.
The dancefloor next to the row of French doors with Juliet balconies, has two mirror balls that add a fun, retro vibe when the lights go down and the music goes up.
There’s substantial sound-proofing on the ceilings to stop echo and make the music sound great. It’s also a big bonus for older guests who can have trouble hearing when such a large space is full of voices.
It had that enchanted forest feeling even without decor, and it was not too big. I knew our guests would be able to mingle and that we too would be able to chat with everyone.
The venue itself is stunning. The reason I was drawn to Tui Hills was how beautiful the Kowhai Glade is. It was by far one of the most dazzling areas I’d seen to hold a ceremony.
