Huge progress on the centrepiece Nikau Pavilion. After nearly a month of letting the new concrete cure, grinders have taken off a layer to expose multi-coloured aggregate. That’s now being sealed with a non-slip surface which also manages to give the floor a polished look. It’s a case of taking the indoors outdoors. The pavilion will be used for dining during summer and ceremonies in rainy weather, so it has to look its best.
