Auckland’s Best Indoor Option
If you’re unable or don’t want to marry outside in the Kowhai Glade, you’ll be sheltered from the elements, while still feeling at one with nature, in the award-winning Nikau Pavilion, completed in September 2023. With translucent panels and draping for the 7m-high roof, the structure protects you and your guests from the sun and showers. And the movable, weatherproof glass sides slide open so you can feel part of the native garden surroundings.
The Nikau Pavilion has the capacity to comfortably seat 120 guests and provides a fabulous alternative to the outdoor Kowhai Glade as a ceremony space in both summer and winter as well as the ideal spot for canape hour.
The venue looked so magical and very well-made.It was raining on the day but even then it didn’t disappoint inside. Definitely felt like a destination wedding.
The venue was absolutely beautiful and perfect! It had the exact vibe we were after and we were blown away by the attention to detail in how they decorated and planned the space for our wedding.
Secluded And Enchanting
Just a few steps from the main venue buildings, the Kowhai Glade is the enchanting and secluded ceremony area that couples fall in love with.
Feel the excitement build walking down the fern-lined bridal path knowing friends and family and your fiancee are waiting for you – and then you’re there!
Seating’s provided for up to 120 guests, and the iconic rotunda serves as the perfect backdrop for the vows and photographs afterwards.
Add our styling package to make the Kowhai Glade look extra special with colour-coordinated silk flowers in urns, as pew and aisle markers and on the rotunda itself.
Inside Character Space
Fully air-conditioned throughout, the historic Nectar Room is where dining and the dance party happen for up to 120 guests.
The character space, with a native timber floor and internal hanging garden, has a fully-stocked bar. Wooden tables and cross-back chairs are included in every package.
The dancefloor next to the row of French doors with Juliet balconies, has two mirror balls that add a fun, retro vibe when the lights go down and the music goes up.
There’s substantial sound-proofing on the ceilings to stop echo and make the music sound great. It’s also a big bonus for older guests who can have trouble hearing when such a large space is full of voices.
Award-Winning Design
Tui Hills’ all-weather space – the Nikau Pavilion – has received a Gold Medal for spatial design at the prestigious Best Design Awards of the Design Institute of New Zealand. The medal, awarded in October 2024, is for a combination of both aesthetic look and design innovation.
The judges commented: “This is a well-considered intervention which finely balances the weight and presence of the structure with a sense of lightness. The roof appears to float amongst the canopy layers of the native bush. This attention extends into the detailing and operability of the structure to support its various event functions and modes.”

The best thing about Tui Hills is the fact that you can have everything in one place. Even though we were having a small wedding the venue made it feel beautifully intimate.
The Venue was beautiful and an added bonus that it catered to all aspects of our wedding – from the ceremony space to the reception area.
