A Wonderful Family Wedding

Children help make the day for Anna and Mark

For West Auckland couple Anna and Mark Elswood, their children were a huge part of their Tui Hills wedding.

“The most special part of the day for both of us was without a doubt our kids,” Says Anna. “All three of them were amazing, but our older two children Izzy and Matthew, who are 12 and 13, absolutely blew us away with their confidence to get up and do speeches in front of all our guests.

“They both had us laughing one minute and in tears the next and for us its a moment we’ll never forget. Having all three of our children in the wedding party was so super special and we are so happy we waited until they were old enough to be part of the day. We wouldn’t change any of it.”

Anna says her 10-year love affair with mark began at work.

“Mark and I met almost 10 years ago at work. He was the I.T guy literally crawling around under my desk moving some computer hardware when we met. Back then, we both had one child each of similar ages and no intention of getting into a new relationship but of course that’s exactly where we ended up.”

Anna says that, living in Titirangi, Tui Hills seemed like the perfect venue, with exactly the right look and feel. That, added to the fact that the venue offered a full Concierge planning service, made it an easy decision to book.

“The beautiful bush setting, the fact it felt intimate, and with a smaller wedding (we had 50 guests) we wouldn’t get lost in there – it was exactly the vibe we were after.

“We are also both busy people with three kids and full-time jobs so the all-inclusive package with the Concierge included suited us down to then ground! We loved that we didn’t have to worry about bringing in caterers or drinks that all of that was taken care of for us.”

Tui Hills also came in for some rave reviews from Ann and Mark’s guests.

“Our guests absolutely loved the venue and we did too! The native bush and garden provided the perfect backdrop, the reception venue had a lovely warm rustic vibe and the outdoor area with a stage was perfect for a chill-out zone and for the live music part of the evening.

“Because the reception area was already so beautiful it didn’t require too much styling, so I kept it simplistic and it looked incredible! If I could get married all over again I wouldn’t choose to do it anywhere else. And I absolutely LOVED the MR & MRS lights above the bridal table.

“There were even touches like not having to source a photobooth as it was all there on site. Just so so easy. All our guests raved about the venue, the food and the whole day.”

Tui Hills prides itself on being child-friendly, with high-chairs, games and special menus for the youngest guests at your wedding. We can even organise an outside picnic area. Just let us know how we can help.
