Heaven At Level 3

Evelyn and Andrew’s 10-Person Wedding

Nothing can stop true love, not even a pandemic. South Auckland couple Evelyn and Andrew Maka literally couldn’t wait to get married, and decided to go ahead with their October ceremony and reception at Tui Hills, despite being limited to 10 people by Government Covid restrictions.

In Step One of Level 3, that meant an unmasked event, including food. The fun though, was unlimited. As these pictures show, the couple and their guests had a fantastic day, including striking poses at the photobooth and on the dancefloor.

Tui Hills owner Ruth Carpenter says a growing number of brides and grooms are wanting to go ahead with a 10-person wedding, and the venue pulled out all the stops to make it a day to remember, including flowers, cake, canapes and a full three-course gourmet meal.

“In the end, nothing can hold back love. It was great to see Evelyn and Andrew having such a wonderful time.”

Tui Hills was looking to hold more Level 3 weddings in the coming month or so.

“Hopefully by the end of November/early December we’ll be in the red traffic light level and back to hosting 100 person weddings, but for now we’re helping couples make the most of the smaller weddings.”
